Switzerland’s largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences, part of the ETH Domain. See Switzerland’s largest research institute.

Swiss Light Source and SwissFEL

Two sources of X-ray light: the SLS synchrotron, rebuilt as SLS 2.0, and the SwissFEL X-ray free-electron laser on the Würenlingen side of the Aare. See A ring that makes light and Flashes of X-ray laser light.

HIPA, SINQ and SμS

The proton accelerator and the neutron and muon sources it drives. See A proton beam and what it knocks loose.

Center for Proton Therapy

PSI’s facility for treating tumours with protons. See Protons against tumours.

Visitor Center and iLab

PSI’s Visitor Center explains its research to the public, and the iLab, opened on 4 April 2008, is a laboratory where school classes do experiments. Details are on Science Travel.
